The sculpture park is the world’s largest, all year sculpture exhibition, showcasing over 300 artists and 600 sculptures.
Situated within ten acres of lush arboretum and wildlife inhabitated water gardens, surrounded by thousands of new plants, bulbs and specimen trees. Maintaining the natural landscape of the rolling Surrey Hills has resulted in the perfect haven for the display of sculpture. The gardens meander through mixed heathland and woodland in a natural valley enhanced by three lakes fed by two natural springs.
The day we arrived it was sunny and cool. The trees were changing so small pockets of color provided a stunning backdrop. I can only imagine the grounds must be bursting with color in the summer with so many of the plants and bulbs in full bloom.
The sculptures are all for sale so the display is constantly changing and something new to see on each visit. Materials used range from bronze, stone, marble, mixed metals and wood.
After the First World War, the poppy was adopted as a symbol of Remembrance.
